The Berg Field Center

Also known as the BFC, is one of the few places I hadn't really been to yet in McMurdo. As you can see, it is quite swank, a rival even to a quirky loft a la New York City.

The BFC is responsible for checking, packing and coordinating all the gear for science groups and field camps. Gear includes camping stoves, heaters, sleeping bags, yak trax, tents, pee bottles and pretty much anything else one might need to actually camp in Antarctica.
