The Famous Dead Person's Ball

Yes, another costume party...perhaps because there is some greater meaning, some psychological need to create an alternate reality, to escape the harshness of existence here. Or maybe the motivation to dress up comes from pure and simple boredom. Then again, all this self-decoration could stem from a true unholy love of costumes. Who knows? I do know that the Famous Dead Person's Ball inspired some memorable transformations and tributes.

I went as Salvador Dali!

MC a la Bob Ross.

Allison and Jason as deceased Xmen
Dark Phoenix and Colossus.

Genevieve as Dr. Seuss's Ball, so punny!

Karen & DJ as Michael Jackson's Balls.

Tonya as Judith Resnik, the First American Jew
and first Jewish woman in space.
Died in the Challenger disaster.

Wendy as the Holy Mother Mary with her baby Jesus!

John as Napolean.

Charlotte as the Grim Reaper.

Justin as Erik the Viking...grrrrrr!

Angela as Tammy Faye Baker!

Mark Scowden as Wild Bill Hickok.

Cedar as Claudia from Interview with a Vampire.

The very spooky stairs...actually I thought this
would make an interesting photo depth-wise and,
I happen to hastily make that lovely sign just before the party.

Dead Shenanigans.

Dead people are feisty, as demonstrated by Allison here...

and here by Hayden as Evel Knievel.

Janette and Bobbi were both Janis Joplin!

Cindy as Savinien de Cyrano de Bergerac!

Karen dips into the glowing
blacklight paint to decorate Genevieve.

My highlighter art under the blacklight.

SCANDAL!
Marilyn (Bethany), JFK (Carl) and Jackie (Melanie)!

Anita as Katherine Heburn from The Birds.

Bob Ross paints Jackie-O.

Marilyn and Dark Phoenix
chat it up in the Kitchen of the BFC!

Tim!

Cynthia!

Ben sports his best Lennon demonstrating
total commitment to the role by shaving his head.

Sweet Rachel as Joan of Arc.

Cindy, Josie and Janette!

Emo Kid Sarah!

Nathan!

Travis went as a poor polution trapped penguin!

Kevin, who normally looks like Jesus,
went as the next best thing: Jerry Garcia!

Lou as Ernesto Che Guevara,
Pedro as Noah (with his Arc animals) and MC (Bob Ross).

Darling Karen as Ameila Earhart.

Bob Ross was quite popular as MC and Dan compare palates.

Doug Doug puts in a request with JFK (the party DJ).

Tim and Mark, being generally creepy.

The controversial Ben Wolak as Terri Schiavo.

Cedar looks hungry!

Did Gumbi die??? Lisa seems to think so...

Pedro and Katherine (another Joan of Arc)
contemplate God's plan for McMurdo.

Mother Teresa (Shandra) adds her two cents as well.

Robyn (The very Wicked Witch of the East)
gets cozy with Kelli (Charlie Chaplin's Ball).

Craig the Gladiator!!!

All in all a splendid evening with quite the cast of characters!
